Asthma 101 for staff was implemented by Julia VanOrman at our school and then she trained me as a School Nurse to continue the project. It was an amazing experience to see the response from our staff. They were engaged and involved, they have commented on this impact of this program for themselves, their students and families. It has helped me as well to have a new "army" of Asthma Advocates out in the school looking out for the children that might have troubles. After our first class with faculty, we expanded to all the staff A-Z; including bus drivers, custondians, secretaries- you name it! Everyone has benefited from this program - and it has made my work easier.
